The 2026 Stefan A. Riesenfeld Symposium on the topic "Beyond Neutrality: Private International Law in a Multipolar World," organized by the Berkeley Journal of International Law, takes place on Thursday, April 9. Throughout the day, distinguished speakers will explore how private legal actors navigate pressing global challenges, including sanctions and accountability, emerging technologies and AI, and climate action.
Claudia Salomon, President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, was selected as the 2026 Riesenfeld Award Recipient for her outstanding contributions to the field of international law. She will deliver a keynote address titled "An Empty Seat at the Table: International Arbitration with Non-Participating Parties."
